If you visit the small Western Austrian town of Wattens, you will immediately be reminded that this is the village that crystals built; Swarovski crystals, to be specific.
For more than a century, those shiny, precious trinkets have been the standard by which other similar luxury jewelry is measured. The company’s founder was actually a German by birth, but he was understandably concerned about other crystal manufacturers discovering his trade secrets.
Swarovski crystals attain their high level of sophistication and impressive design thanks to the creative ingenuity of the Wattens artisans. Although Swarovski crystals are transformed into dozens of types of unique jewelry, Swarovski necklaces are perhaps the most outstanding.
